How to Use This Calculator
Use 40 as the MCQ maximum for the 2026 exam. Convert each FRQ's earned rubric points to a percentage. Adjust score cutoffs for the practice form being used.
Formula & Methodology
The 2026 exam gives 50% weight to 40 multiple-choice questions and 50% to four free-response questions. This calculator treats the four FRQs as equal shares of the FRQ section.
Example: 28 MCQs correct with 65% average FRQ work
A 28/40 MCQ result contributes 35 composite points. A 65% average across the FRQs contributes 32.5 more, producing a composite of 67.5.
Final AP cutoffs can vary. Question-level scaling or scoring nuances may not be perfectly represented by equal percentage inputs.
