Calciro can build a custom calculator around your formulas, pricing rules, or lead-generation process — including pricing calculators, quote builders, ROI tools, and internal business calculators.

How to Use This Calculator

Enter length, width, placed depth, waste allowance, bag volume, price per bag and optional bulk price per cubic yard.

Formula & Methodology

Area equals length × width. Volume in cubic feet equals area × depth ÷ 12. Waste-adjusted volume applies the entered extra percentage. Cubic yards divide cubic feet by 27, and bag count divides required volume by bag size.

Worked example

A 12 ft × 10 ft area at 4 in deep requires 40 ft³. With 10% extra, plan for 44 ft³, or about 1.63 yd³. Using 2 ft³ bags, that is 22 bags.

Loose bedding settles and compacts. Moisture, particle size, animal use, plant needs, existing grade and replacement frequency are not modeled.

Planning estimate only. Confirm safe material type and depth for the intended garden, landscape or animal application and follow supplier or veterinary guidance where relevant.
