How the OSRS Mining Calculator Works

See how the calculator converts a Mining level goal into remaining XP, required actions, and planning outputs.

Flow diagram showing current and target OSRS Mining levels converted to XP remaining, actions needed, and time or cost estimates.
Select current and target levels, define the training method, then calculate the remaining Mining workload.

How the OSRS Mining calculator works

The calculator first converts the selected current and target levels into the exact OSRS XP thresholds used by the tool.

It then calculates:

XP Remaining = max(Target XP − Current XP, 0)

The remaining XP is converted into actions using the method-specific XP value entered by the user. The final required action count is rounded up because a partial final action still has to be completed.

Time, supplies, success-rate adjustments, cost, and output value are then calculated from the additional method assumptions exposed by the calculator.

This design intentionally keeps method-specific assumptions editable instead of silently claiming live prices or universal rates.
