Start with the correct EXP requirement

MapleStory EXP requirements can differ by region and update. Use the number shown in your current client or a current table for the same version.

Use the MapleStory EXP Calculator to calculate progress and time remaining.

Measure EXP per hour

Record EXP before and after a representative training period. Divide the gain by elapsed hours. Include your normal buffs, map rotation, downtime, party setup, and interruptions.

Estimate time and sessions

Time to level equals EXP remaining divided by measured EXP per hour. Divide that time by your planned session length and round upward to estimate the number of sessions.

Treat the result as a forecast

Map changes, level difference, burning, events, fatigue, deaths, and execution can change the actual rate. Recalculate after changing maps or buffs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best EXP-per-hour sample length?
Use a long enough sample to include normal downtime and variation rather than extrapolating from one unusually fast minute.
Should I use EXP percentage instead of raw EXP?
Raw EXP is more precise, especially when level requirements are very large.
Why should I recalculate after leveling?
The next level has a different EXP requirement, and the best map or rate may also change.
