OSRS Herb Run Profit, Yield and Cost
Estimate OSRS herb-run yield, costs, revenue, profit per run, and GP per hour using transparent average assumptions.
Related Calculators
Use the calculator first
Open the OSRS Herb Run Calculator and replace the example defaults with values for the exact OSRS activity you are modeling.
Formula and assumptions
Expected herbs per run equal patches multiplied by average herbs per patch. Total herbs multiply herbs per run by the number of runs. Seed cost equals patches times seed cost times runs. Patch cost equals patches times cost per patch times runs. Revenue equals total herbs times herb value. Profit equals revenue minus seed, patch, and route costs. GP per hour scales profit by total run time.
Worked example
With 8 patches averaging 8 herbs each, one run yields an expected 64 herbs before pricing. Enter seed, compost, route, and herb values to estimate expected profit.
Visual explanation
The calculator includes a live result diagram and a calculation-flow diagram. They use the same inputs and outputs as the calculator rather than a separate hidden model.
Important limitations
Actual herb yield is random and affected by Farming level, compost, diaries, magic secateurs, disease, resurrect crops, patch availability, route, teleports, and game updates. The calculator uses average yield and manual prices rather than simulating individual patches or fetching live market data.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What inputs matter most for this Herb Run estimate?
- Use values for the exact method you plan to use, especially rate, price, success, yield, or probability inputs.
- Does this use live prices or account data?
- No. The calculator uses visible user-entered assumptions unless a field explicitly states otherwise.
- Why can actual results differ?
- Random outcomes, method execution, account unlocks, market prices, and game updates can change real results.
- Should I use best-case rates?
- Use sustainable long-run rates rather than a short perfect benchmark.
