Formula & Methodology

Length per piece equals feet plus inches divided by 12. Total linear feet equals the number of pieces multiplied by the length per piece.

Example: twelve boards measuring 8 ft 6 in

Twelve pieces at 8 feet 6 inches each equal 102 linear feet, or 1,224 total inches.

This calculator assumes every piece has the same length. It does not add cutting waste, kerf, overlaps, joints, trim allowances, or pieces with different dimensions.
