How to Use This Calculator
Enter the old value first and the new value second. The old value must be greater than zero.
Formula & Methodology
Absolute Increase = New Value − Old Value. Percentage Increase = ((New Value − Old Value) ÷ Old Value) × 100.
Example: a price rises from $80 to $100
The absolute increase is $20. The percentage increase is ($20 ÷ $80) × 100 = 25%.
The old value must be greater than zero. If the new value is below the old value, the result is negative; use Percentage Decrease or Percentage Change for that situation.
This calculator provides a mathematical comparison only. Confirm the values and reference period before using the result in financial or business analysis.
