Formula and assumptions

Successful catches needed equal XP remaining divided by XP per catch and rounded up. Attempts needed equal successful catches divided by success rate and rounded up. Expected failures equal attempts minus successful catches. Time divides attempts by attempts per hour. Total cost uses attempts, while gross loot value uses successful catches.

Worked example

If you need 2,000 successful catches and estimate an 80% success rate, the calculator estimates 2,500 attempts and 500 expected failures before adding time and value assumptions.
