How to Use This Calculator

Use the appropriate retired-pay base, such as a verified High-36 average. Enter plan code 1 for legacy or 2 for BRS. This is a gross estimate before taxes, SBP, VA offsets, or deductions.

Formula & Methodology

Estimated monthly retired pay equals the monthly retired-pay base multiplied by years of service and the plan rate: 2.5% for legacy plans or 2.0% for BRS.

Example: BRS at 20 years

A $6,000 retired-pay base with 20 BRS years produces a 40% multiplier and an estimated $2,400 gross monthly retired pay.

This simplified calculator does not model REDUX, disability retirement, reserve point conversion, COLA, taxes, SBP, concurrent receipt, VA offsets, or statutory caps.
