How to Use This Calculator

Select your current and target Woodcutting levels. Enter XP per successful log, logs per hour, expected value per log, and any extra cost per log. Use values that match the tree, location, equipment, and training method you actually plan to use.

Formula & Methodology

XP remaining equals target XP minus current XP, clamped at zero. Logs needed equal XP remaining divided by XP per log and rounded up. Estimated hours divide logs needed by logs per hour. XP per hour multiplies XP per log by logs per hour. Gross log value multiplies required logs by entered value per log, while net value subtracts any extra per-log cost.

Example Woodcutting goal

If you have 500,000 XP remaining and average 100 XP per successful log, the calculator returns 5,000 logs before applying your logs-per-hour and value assumptions.

The calculator does not automatically model success chance by tree, respawn time, Forestry events, tick manipulation, infernal axe effects, banking routes, nests, clue drops, crystal tool charges, boosts, or live Grand Exchange prices. Use realistic long-run averages for your setup.

Old School RuneScape XP values, methods, prices, and achievable rates can change. Verify current method details and prices before planning a long training session.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the OSRS Woodcutting Calculator work?
It uses the values you enter and exposes the intermediate calculations so you can see how the Woodcutting estimate is produced.
Does it use live Grand Exchange prices?
No. Where prices matter, enter current values manually so the assumptions remain visible and easy to update.
Can actual results differ?
Yes. Rates, random outcomes, prices, route efficiency, account unlocks, and game updates can change real results.
Can I use different methods or assumptions?
Yes. Replace the example defaults with values for the exact activity, gear, route, or method you plan to use.
Are the results guaranteed?
No. The arithmetic follows the displayed formulas, but any estimate that depends on averages, probability, prices, or player execution can differ in practice.
