How to Use This Calculator
Choose a grade and enter the credits for each course. Use 0 credits for any unused course slot. Check your transcript or school handbook if courses have different credit values.
Formula & Methodology
High school GPA = total quality points ÷ total attempted credits. Quality points for each course equal grade points × course credits.
Example: four one-credit high school classes
Grades of A, A−, B+, and B equal 4.0, 3.7, 3.3, and 3.0 grade points. With one credit each, the GPA is (4.0 + 3.7 + 3.3 + 3.0) ÷ 4 = 3.50.
High schools may use different letter-grade conversions, plus/minus rules, weighting systems, repeated-course rules, or GPA caps. This calculator uses the displayed 4.0 conversion table and does not automatically add honors, AP, or IB weight.
