How to Use This Calculator
Choose the grade for each class, select standard, honors, or AP/IB weighting, and enter the course credits. Match the weight values to your school’s published GPA policy.
Formula & Methodology
Weighted course points = base grade points + course weight. Weighted GPA = total weighted quality points ÷ total credits.
Example: an A in an AP course
An A is worth 4.0 base points. With a +1.0 AP weight, the course contributes 5.0 points per credit. An A in a standard course contributes 4.0 points per credit.
There is no universal weighted GPA scale. Some schools add 0.5 or 1.0 points, use different caps, weight only certain grades, or recalculate GPA for admissions.
Use your school or admissions office policy for official weighted GPA, class rank, scholarships, and application reporting.
