How to Use This Calculator
Use dates from official records. For current TIS, use today as the as-of date. Adjusted service dates and breaks in service must be handled separately.
Formula & Methodology
Elapsed days are calculated between the two dates. Estimated years use 365.2425 days and calendar months use the shared date engine.
Example: service from 2020 to 2026
A start date in July 2020 and an as-of date in July 2026 produces approximately six years of service.
This estimate does not adjust for lost time, breaks in service, constructive credit, inactive periods, or official pay-entry-date corrections.
