How to Use This Calculator
Select current and target Smithing levels. Enter average XP and reputation per sword, materials consumed per sword, swords completed per hour, material value, other cost, and expected reward value. For mould planning, use a verified average for your unlocked mould set.
Formula & Methodology
Swords needed equal XP remaining divided by average XP per completed sword and rounded up. Materials and reputation multiply swords by their per-sword values. Time divides swords by swords per hour. Gross input cost combines material value and other cost. Gross reward value multiplies swords by expected reward value. Net cost equals input cost minus rewards.
Average sword planning example
If a sword awards an average of 15,000 Smithing XP and your goal requires 1,500,000 XP, the calculator returns 100 completed swords before material and time assumptions.
Giants' Foundry XP and reputation depend on metal composition, mould score, sword quality, mistakes, section count, unlocks, and execution. This calculator intentionally uses verified averages entered by the user. It does not automatically select moulds, calculate every alloy, fetch prices, or claim an exact hidden in-game formula.
Verify current Giants' Foundry mechanics, mould unlocks, prices, and your achieved rates before committing valuable bars or equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why does this calculator use average XP per sword?
- Sword results vary with alloy, mould score, quality, mistakes, and execution. A measured average avoids pretending one fixed value fits every setup.
- What mould score should I use?
- Use the score for your actual unlocked mould selection. Published reference averages include about 37.667 without unlocks and 58.25 with moulds unlocked, but your exact sword can differ.
- Can it calculate reputation rewards?
- Yes. Enter average reputation per sword and expected reward value per sword.
- Does it fetch live item prices?
- No. Enter current material and reward values manually.
- Does the Smiths' outfit affect the result?
- It may improve effective completion speed. Reflect that in your sustainable swords-per-hour input.
