How to Use This Calculator
Use dates exactly as shown in official personnel records. Enter the service date used for promotion purposes and your official A1C Date of Rank. Review the projected normal SrA and BTZ dates, then confirm them with your supervisor, CSS, MPF, or myFSS. Do not enter names, DoD ID numbers, Social Security numbers, or a personnel roster.
Formula & Methodology
Path A is the later of 36 months time in service and 20 months time in grade. Path B is 28 months time in grade. The normal fully qualified Senior Airman date is the earlier of Path A and Path B. The projected BTZ promotion date is six calendar months before the normal date. Exact calendar-month arithmetic is required.
Example: service date and A1C Date of Rank
For an Airman whose 36-month TIS date occurs after the 20-month TIG date, Path A uses the 36-month TIS date. That date is compared with the 28-month TIG date. The earlier result becomes the normal Senior Airman date, and the BTZ date is six calendar months earlier.
