How to Use This Calculator
Use official service dates. Select plan code 1 for a legacy 2.5% multiplier or 2 for BRS at 2.0%. Verify creditable service and retirement eligibility with your personnel and finance offices.
Formula & Methodology
The standard active-duty eligibility date is 20 calendar years after the entered service date. The longevity multiplier is estimated as creditable years multiplied by 2.5% for legacy plans or 2.0% for BRS.
Example: planning retirement after 20 years
A member under BRS with 20 creditable years receives an estimated longevity multiplier of 40%. A legacy-plan member with 20 years receives 50%.
